REMEMBERING THE LIFE OF MARCEL RICHARD BANASINSKI (B.Sc., B.C.L., LL.B.) - OBITUARY

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Marcel Richard Banasinski (age 61), born in Montreal, Canada, on November 26, 1961, and died in Toronto, Canada, on October 19, 2023.

He was the son of Antoine Banasinski (deceased in 1979), who supported his dreams and passions to become a lawyer and was the ‘apple of her eye’ of his mother, Zofia Banasinski (born Koscielak) (deceased in 2019). He was the beloved brother of Marie Zita Banasinski and Danuta Lucyna Banasinski (husband: Jean Couture) and the uncle of Julian Banasinski Garcia.

He is fondly remembered and greatly missed by friends, and his incredibly caring and supportive staff and clients at Dad Law.

PERSONAL PASSIONS:
Marcel pursued many hobbies: stamp and coin collecting as a young boy, he was an avid reader, liked cycling, playing squash and tennis, swimming, skiing, and a great passion for travelling.

He was a ‘foodie’, loved to eat, was very passionate about all things culinary, and was a great cook. His home housed many cookbooks, pots and pans, and all the kitchen gadgets available on the market.
Marcel enjoyed playing online games and played often with his nephew, Julian, into the wee hours of the morning when both should have been asleep!

Finally, Marcel had a great fondness for chess and was taught by his father as a young boy. He was always ready to challenge anyone to a game - to win and get your king and secure your kingdom!

IN LOVING MEMORY - OUR FINAL GOODBYE:

In the Meadow Where You Rest

In the meadow
Rolling on the lawn
I spend my time
From the start of dawn.

Hoping I could feel the breeze
Swishing among the leaves
Listening to the birds call
Floating in a world so small.

The sun my skin caresses
Velvet grass to hold my head
The silence is my music.
