Margaret Elsie Cavanagh

Margaret (Peggy), beloved wife of Brian for 65 years. Loving mother of Mary-Elaine (predeceased) and Ian (Denise), passed away peacefully on October 9th, 2024 in Oshawa Ontario. Dear sister to Brian Cotterall, Peter Cotterall (predeceased) and Hazel Taylor. Margaret will be missed and fondly remembered by many friends as well as extended family in England.

Margaret, born in Bristol, England on August 27, 1936, immigrated to Canada in 1967 with Brian and her children. They enjoyed their life in St. Catharines, Owen Sound, Calgary, Sudbury, Burlington and finally settling in Pembroke for the past 24 years.

A lover of animals, Margaret had several pets over the years and loved to feed the birds (especially hummingbirds) in the backyard. She spent many years volunteering for The Festival of Trees, the Canadian Lung Association, the Royal Botanical Gardens and Miramichi Lodge.

The family would like to thank the staff on the 3rd floor at Pembroke Hospital for their care and compassion over the last few months and Reverend James Kim of the Petawawa Presbyterian Church for his prayers and support.

Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Petawawa Presbyterian Church 24 Ethel St., Petawawa at 11:00 am on Saturday November 16th.
