Darling, Margaret E. It is with great sadness the family announces that Mom to Judy and Don, Jim and Leslie, and Bob and Karen, Granny to Michael and Alida, David and Laura, Catie, Jenny, Justin, and Brett and Great Granny to Ryan and Thea passed away peacefully on Monday September 14, 2015 at the age of 95. From the McCartney general store in Caledon East, Marg moved to Toronto to become a Stewardess. To be accepted, she had to first train to as a Registered Nurse. Upon graduating from Wellesley Hospital, Marg nursed in Detroit and later in Bermuda. She returned home and joined Trans Canada Airlines (now Air Canada). She married Jack Darling in 1948 and with his sudden death in 1969 Marg had to retrain and go back to work to support her family. One of the great joys of her life occurred when Mississauga recognized Jack?s contributions to the City and renamed a lakefront park the Jack Darling Memorial Park. Marg had wonderful supportive neighbours on Parkland Avenue next to the Park where she lived for over 56 years in the house she and Jack built. In retirement, she was able to spend the winters in Bradenton Florida with her local and snowbird friends. She was a positive caring person with a great love for her family and friends. The family is hosting a celebration of her life on Monday September 21st from 5 to 9 p.m. at Credit Valley Golf Club, 2500 Old Carriage Rd., Mississauga.
