Margaret (Maggie) Susan Freeman

March 22, 1946 — April 19, 2021

Margaret (Maggie) Susan Freeman, 75, of Paris, Ontario, passed away unexpectedly from complications with COVID-19 on April 19th, 2021. She had been in the Brantford General Hospital since November 2020 for unassociated health reasons and making a full recovery when she contracted the virus that ultimately ended her life. The family gives all of the healthcare workers and facility staff at both the Brantford General Hospital and The Willet Urgent Care Centre their greatest and warmest gratitude for her care.

Throughout her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and homemaker, Maggie enjoyed planning large family gatherings, especially around the holidays that were attended by many family members and friends. She was also a philanthropist, donating to many charities and sponsoring impoverished children in need around the world. Prior to a prolonged illness, she loved attending the church services at St. Paul's United Church in Paris, Ontario, where she had the spiritual support from Reverend Sarah and other parishioners. She also was very creative and focused a lot of her time with crafts such as quilting, knitting and crocheting beautiful blankets.

Margaret was born on March 22nd, 1946 in Southampton, England. Maggie met Terence Freeman (predeceased) and they were married on July 26th, 1968 and spent 49 loving years together.

Margaret will be sadly missed by her children Gary, Paul, Stephanie and Suzanne, her grandchildren Emily and Michael, her great-grandchildren, Kaiya and Madison, her sister, Doris and her many nieces, nephews and friends.

Margaret was predeceased by her parents Susan and James Wilson, her grandchild Kathleen and her brother David.

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and public safety guidelines, there will be no memorial celebration at this time. However, the family is working with St. Paul's United Church, 48 Broadway Street West, Paris, Ontario to coordinate a “Celebration of Life” event once it is safe to do so.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul’s United Church by sending a cheque mailed to: 48 Broadway St W, Paris N3L 2S5, or etransfer to: stpaulsparis_treasurer@rogers.com. To share condolences online, visit Margaret's obituary at Basic Funerals.com
