Maria (LYCHOPIJ) Leheniuk

LEHENIUK (LYCHOPIJ), Maria -Passed away  on February 20, 2023 in her 96nd year. Devoted and dedicated wife and mother to her husband Rt. Rev. Protopresbyter Fedir Leheniuk and son Bill Leheniuk (Sonia). Pre-deceased by her loving husband Rt. Rev. Protopresbytor Fedir Leheniuk. Beloved Baba of Zachary, Nastassia and Andrei. Great Grandmother of Emrys Leheniuk. Affectionately remembered by her family in Zelenyj, Ukraine, Dobrodika Maria and her husband emigrated to Canada in April 1947 where they became active members in the Ukrainian community and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Committed to her faith, she was always an active member of the Ukrainian church and school. She was often referred to as an angel by her friends and acquaintances. Special thanks to all the wonderful nurses and support workers at the Ivan Franko Ukrainian Nursing Home. A private family mass will be held for the family on Thursday February 23/23. Burial to take place at St. Volodymyr Cemetery in Oakville.
