Maria Morfesis

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother Maria Morfesis, on January 21, 2021, at Toronto Western Hospital, at the age of 84.

Beloved wife of Konstantinos.  Loving mother of Michael (Marianna) and Anastasia.
Maria was born on the beautiful island of Lefkada, Greece. In her 20s she moved to Germany before emigrating to Canada in 1964. After a quick trip back to Germany to marry Konstantinos, they set up their permanent roots in Toronto.

She made life-long friends easily and deeply cherished her neighbours of almost 50 years, the Mazis and Patel families. In her final days she reached out to call as many of her dear friends that she physically could. Her strength and courage in her final days blew us away.
Maria showed so much kindness and love to everyone she met through the years. Anyone who knew her would always say her compassion surpassed all else.
We adored her and appreciated the mother that she was and will miss her dearly, as will everyone who knew her.  She will never be forgotten.
Respecting the current Provincial pandemic restrictions, a private funeral service will be held at:
The Greek Orthodox Cathedral Annunciation of the Virgin Mary, Toronto, Canada Monday January 25, 2021 at 12.30 pm.

Internment at Beechwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Toronto Western Hospital
