Maria Filomena DeSouza Monteiro Pereira, 77, of Poona, Maharashtra, India, died on the 2nd of August, 2013, at Tyndall Nursing Home in Mississauga, Canada.
Born on the 21st of May, 1936 in Cunchelim, Goa, she is predeceased by her parents, Francisco and Lizarda Monteiro and her sister Carcia Monteiro of Cunchelim, Goa, her neice Delphina Vaz of Ambernath, Maharashtra and her late husband of 20 years, Aquino Paul Pereira of Tivim, Goa and Poona, Maharashtra.
Maria is survived by her brother, Pedro and his wife Alcina; her sisters Rosadinha (late Philip) Pereira; Mariquinha (late Marcos) Rodrigues; and Fatima (late Alfred) Pereira; her beloved son Anselm (Abigail) Pereira; nieces and nephews:
Leslie, Berna and Brian Pereira; Amanda, Stephen, Lynette and Alan Gomes; Eric, Jennifer, Rochelle and Philip Pereira; Georgina, Joel and Daniel Curtez; Mariam, Tony and Christopher Lobo;
Lavy, Leena, Lloyd and Lyton Vaz; Olivia, Philip, Sophie and Rohan Rodrigues; Audrey and her loving family;
Melville, Theresa, Dunstan, Benedict and Xavier Rodrigues; Mervyn Rodrigues; Magnus Rodrigues;

Cremation was held at St John's Dixie Cemetery on the 4th of August and Mass will be held at 2:00 PM on the 17th of August, 2013 at St. John of the Cross, 6890 Glen Erin Drive, Mississauga, Ontario L5N 2E1. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Maria's name to the organization that seeks a cure for her disease - Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (www.psp.org/donate) or to The Alzheimer's Society of Peel (www.alzheimer.ca/peel)
