MARILYN JEAN GARDINER January 13, 1935 - June 26, 2016
In loving memory of Marilyn Gardiner who graciously chose to be mother of John David aka J.D., twin girls Tracey (Mark Burton) & Tammy (Shareef Isa), adored Grandmother of Samantha, Kadin, Matthew, Taylor & Nolan, loving Partner of Ted Wrigley, she surrendered following the light on June 26, 2016 to the eternal freedom that only heaven could afford.
Born January 13, 1935 in Chatham Ontario to Rose Campbell and Peter Lee Gardiner, beloved sister of Joanne (Bob Ross, sons Steven & Scott) and Linda (Albert Matthews).
When most people would have given up, Marilyn stayed the path. She was committed to her ideals, loved a party, always found the satire in life, smiling to make it easier on others, focused on what was ahead never in the rear-view mirror. In recent days, she played fully in the moment. She laughed hard, sang loud, and danced like nobody was watching. It was a freedom we'll cherish.
With heartfelt thanks to the staff at Markham Stouffville Hospital, with special thanks to Doctors O, Jeung, V, Ingh, T, and Mehta, from Markham Stouffville Hospital, and Nursing Staff Haan, Janna, Euc, Solly, Mark, Maria, Jowel, Trudy and to our compassionate Care-workers Ophelia, Jan-Michael, Kirsten, May, Sadaf and Crystie.
The Service is scheduled at Bethesda Lutheran Church on 20 Union Street L3R 2H5, Unionville Thursday June 30th @ 11:00am , with a Celebration of Life immediately following @ The Mill Restaurant at 139 Main Street, Unionville L3R 2G6 from Noon - 2:30pm. Please come to pay tribute. Sparkle, don't be sad! Marilyn loved to laugh, dance and party. She especially loved things that shine, children, animals, music, food, and her family & friends. We'll celebrate the most important leg of her journey, together.
