Marina Dietl, a beloved mother, wife and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 31st, 2021 at home surrounded by the love of her children, Kyra and Evan, and her husband of 28 years as of March 30th, Paul Tudlong.
Since October 7th, 1960, Marina’s smile and heart was a light to many. Though she never got to sail around the world like she dreamed, she lived many adventures. In her travels is where she began her family. Meeting Paul in the Philippines, they married and raised a family in Canada.
Marina put her heart and soul into her family, friends and any stranger who crossed her path. Her family is honoured to fulfill her legacy of compassion, generosity, and strength that she left behind.
Overcoming many challenges in life, Marina’s resilience was tested yet again in 2016, when she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Her warrior spirit and open heart kept her going, helping her prevail over the breast cancer in 2017 with a lesson for us all that you only live once, so you better make it count!
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation in her memory. The hospital where she beat breast cancer, fundraised for, and spent her last few weeks receiving care. Unknowingly, the cancer had spread to her liver, eventually taking her away from all of us much too soon.
May she be remembered by her warmth, determination and kindness that inspired all those around her.
