Marjorie Violet Halliday (nee Enever)

March 27, 1931 — August 8, 2024

Passed away peacefully, at Kensington Hospice, Toronto, on Saturday, August 3, 2024, age 93.
Marjorie was born March 27, 1931 in York township, the eldest child of Ellie (nee Wilson) and George Enever.
She grew up in the Runnymede and St Clair area, and fondly remembered trips down to High Park as a child.

As a teenager, Marjorie met an "east end" man of promising character, William Halliday, at a dance, and they married June 17, 1950 at the Anglican Church of the Holy Redeemer at Bloor and Avenue Road.

In 2020, Marj and Bill celebrated their 70th anniversary with children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren at the family home in Scarborough. Marjorie lost Bill in 2021 at age 94.

Marj and Bill travelled extensively, including a trip to England where she met many of her Enever cousins. They also spent many happy years with their children and grandchildren at the cottage on the Trent River.

Marj was a loving mother to Stephen (Deborah), the late Sharon (Ted Zambri), Dale (Diane), and Glenn.
Nana to Dorian (Deena), Kieran (Ozge), Leah (Ryan), Daneya, Nick (Michelle), Ian (Shirley), Neil (Juliana), Graeme, and Ryan.
Great-grandmother to James, Everly, Avalina, Liliana, Nico, and Zoe.
Fondly remembered by Aase, Alison, Jeanette, and Chisato.
Also survived by sisters Shirley Boynton and Ruth Hesmondhalgh (the late David), by sister-in-law Irene Kirk (David), and by brothers-in-law Eric Halliday (the late Barbara Maxwell Halliday), Jim Virgin (the late Ann), and Don Knueppel.

Predeceased by brothers Francis and Ronald, and sister Jean; and their spouses Helen, Fenella, and Russ Adams.
Also predeceased by sisters-in-law Dot, Alice, Elsie, Frances, Joyce, and by brothers-in-law Harvey and Clifford, and their spouses, Al Godwin, Ernest Comartin, Alex Easton, Barbara McAulay Halliday, and Joan Halliday.

The family would like to thank the staff at Kensington Hospice for their wonderful care of our mother. Marjorie had one last joyous occasion on her 93rd birthday at the hospice, when her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren threw a birthday party for her. Marjorie even blew out the candles!

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kensington Health Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
