Mark Thomas Doane Patterson, a beloved member of the Brampton community, passed away on January 13, 2024, after a valiant battle with lung cancer. Born on December 24, 1967, in Brampton, Mark brought joy and laughter to all those around him throughout his life.
In addition to his beloved wife Sandy Thomson, Mark is survived by their daughter Katie Hayat (Thomson) and son-in-law Affan Hayat. He was a loving Grampy to Aayan and Zyan. He is survived by his mother Christine Patterson (predeceased by his father John Patterson) , and brothers Shawn and Paul Patterson. His extended family, including his niece and nephews Emily, Myles, and Eric, will also deeply mourn his loss.
Mark had many passions that brought him immense happiness. He had a deep love for motorcycles and enjoyed the freedom of the open road. Music was another one of his great loves, and he could often be found singing his heart out at karaoke nights. Mark's fondness for these activities was only surpassed by his adoration for his grandkids. And he would never turn down an ice cream. Known for his infectious laugh and captivating storytelling abilities, Mark had an unforgettable personality that drew people to him.
Mark will be deeply missed by his family and friends, as well as the wider community. His memory will forever be cherished by those whose lives he touched. His passing leaves a void in our hearts that cannot be filled.
A Memorial Service will be held on February 3, 2024, at the Royal Canadian Legion in Brampton. The service will begin at 6:00 PM and conclude at 9:00 PM, providing an opportunity for loved ones to gather together and pay their respects to this remarkable individual.
