Marlene Churchill (née Cheverie)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marlene Churchill (née Cheverie), who passed away peacefully on November 12, 2024, at Woods Park Nursing Care in Barrie, Ontario, at the age of 84.

Marlene was the beloved wife of the late Ray Churchill and mother to Wally (deceased), Bobby (deceased), David, Debbie (Wayne), and Bill (Tammy). She was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother. Sister of Helen Cheverie and Elizabeth (Betty) Cheverie and predeceased by her sisters Noreen Dicks, Shirley Cheverie, Gloria Cheverie, Lois (infancy), and Bernadette (Bernie) Cheverie. Fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.

Born in Charlottetown, PEI, Marlene moved to Toronto in her early 20s, where she raised her family. She met Ray, and together they would later marry and settle in Barrie, where she called home for many years.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 20, at 11:00 AM at Jennett Memorial Centre, 152 Bradford St, Barrie, ON L4N 3B5. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be greatly appreciated.

Marlene will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
