Mary Anne Kecskemethy

Sadly we announce the passing of Mary Anne Kecskemethy at the age of 79. Mary Anne was born on May 25, 1944 in Brantford, Ontario and passed away surrounded by family on March 4, 2024 in North York, Ontario.

Dearly loved mother of Mary Anne Jr, sister of Elizabeth (Boszi), aunt of Laura (Justin) and Ted (Keri), and lifelong cherished friend of the Almases. Predeceased by her loving parents Alexander and Anne Szanto and nephew Nicky Banfalvi. Mary Anne will also be fondly remembered by her extended family and friends. 

Mary Anne was a social butterfly and loved to host holiday gatherings, especially at Christmas, so much so that we added on “Christmas in July”. No matter the time or place, you were never allowed to leave her presence without receiving one of her special bear hugs! Mary Anne’s big heart, generosity, kindness and sense of humour will be missed by all.  

Please join us for a celebration of Mary Anne’s life on Monday, March 18, 2024 at THORPE BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME at 96 West Street, Brantford, ON, N3T 3E7. The family will be receiving guests starting at 12:30 pm. A service will be held in the chapel at 1:30 pm with a reception to follow.
