Marie Holoshka nee Mayhew passed away peacefully at the Queensway Carleton Hospital, Ottawa on June 26th 2017 in her 88th year of life. The loving wife of Stefan Holoshka (deceased), beloved mother of David and Mark; spouses Gunilla Ekman and Elaine. Proud grandmother of Stephen, Morris and Hilding. Daughter of the late Charles Joseph Mayhew and Adeline (Addie) Mayhew nee Lemay. Survived by siblings Gerald, John, Leona, Jim, Effie and Shirley and predeceased by Arthur, Dora, Muriel, Claude, Michael and Donald.
Marie was born in Bristol township Quebec. She later moved to Beachgrove PQ in her early teens where her family had a farm. She later went to high school in Shawville PQ. She started her working life as a school teacher in P.Q. and later joined the Royal Signals Reserve in Ottawa. Marie spent most of her Career in Administrative positions within various Federal Government Departments. Some of her many passions included family, travelling, golfing and for the past number of years dance, where she is well known to the local square dance aficionados. It is with great sadness that we must say goodbye.
Having her family with her at the end was so important and very comforting for her. We take great comfort in that she lived a long and joyful life and that we could be with her to comfort her as her end of life approached. We also take comfort that she is not alone where she has gone and that we too will one day be re-united with her. Sleep well and go in peace knowing all our love and fond memories live on in the world you’ve left behind....your ever loving family.
