Mary Lou Osborne

Mary Lou “Mickey” Osborne (nee Vair) (August 4, 1935 - February 6, 2025 in Barrie, ON)

A longtime resident of Barrie, Mickey was preceded in death by her husband Charles William Osborne(1971), sisters Reita(1989) and Marjorie “Mardi”(2018) and son Paul(2007).

She is survived by children Susan Hirschfeld(Tim) of Marathon, ON; Terry Osborne(Linda)of Barrie; and brother Jack Vair of Barrie, ON.

Loving and dedicated Nannie to Kevin, Heather, Sheila, Lesa, Dustin, Taylor and Joshua who have all shared a nice cup of hot tea with their Nan, as well as 7 great-grandchildren. We cannot forget her special friend of 40+ years Marilyn Shackleton of Oakville, ON who was by her side for many of life’s ups and down’s.

The family would like to thank The Barrieview Retirement Home for their support and care the past 3.5 years, Heather RN from Bayshore Home Care Solutions, Julia at Ontario Health at Home as well as Hospice Simcoe for the comfort and care provided in her final hours.

As per Mickey’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a service conducted on Friday February 14th at 11AM St. John Vianney Church, 13 Baldwin Lane, Barrie, ON. Refreshments will be available following the service. A private interment will take place in the spring.
