Died peacefully at home on March 14, four days after celebrating her 88th birthday. Preceded by her one true love, Albert William Turner, husband of 52 years. Loving mother of David (Marie-Eve), Chrissie (Bill) and Andrew (Carole). Proud Nana of Alexa (Paul), Iain (Frances), Charlotte (Ally), Jocelyne (Stu) and Eric (Erin). Great grandmother of Isaac, Katie, Charlie, Teddy and Izzy. Further survived by her adopted Canadian family, the Brooks', Marion (Allan), feline companion Henry, other relatives and friends.
Mary will be fondly remembered for her youthful outlook and as a loving mother, cook, baker of Dave's delight and chocolate enders, gardener, birder, brewmaster, stubborn Scotswoman, devoted CBC radio and Ottawa Senators fan and as a woman who lived simply but fully. Mary volunteered her time with the Manotick Chapter of the Women's Institute and knitted countless hats for those recovering from cancer therapy.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in her name to Cornerstone Housing for Women.
Private family services were held. A celebration of life for all to attend will take place this summer.
