Passed away surrounded by family, after a valiant ten-year struggle with that cruelest of adversaries, Alzheimer’s disease, on Monday, November 1st, 2021 at Grove Park Home, at the age of 82. Treasured daughter of Joan Louise (Webb) and William Crocker Crooks. Sorrowfully mourned by husband of 64 years Greg Tomlinson, her daughters Nancy James (Jerry) of London and Trudee Romanek (Rob) of Barrie, her sister and best friend Cathy Herr (Larry) of Horseshoe Valley, and her brother Bill Crooks (the late Gert) of Edmonton. Dearly loved by her grandchildren Graham, Brina, and Scott Romanek, her “surrogate grandchildren” niece Sarah Herr (Brent Winterburn) and nephew Thomas Herr (Amanda Zummach). Fondly remembered by Jason James, John and Nicole James and great-granddaughters Desirée and Shaelynn. Mary Anne will be missed by sisters-in-law Joanne Cockburn (John) and Vickie Gay (Ken) of Crofton, and brother-in-law John Tomlinson, and many more cherished nieces and nephews as well as dear friends.  Predeceased by infant son Steven. Mary Anne was a ray of light and kindness. She weathered life’s challenges with a ready smile that lightened many a heavy heart. Her family cannot adequately express their gratitude to the many unbelievably caring staff members at Grove Park Home, especially those in Aspen, who have filled her final years as well as these last precious days with the respect, love, and dignity that she so richly deserved. You are all true angels. There will be a visitation on Tuesday, November 9th, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Jennett Funeral & Cremation Centre, with a Memorial Service to follow at  2:00 p.m. Interment of cremated remains at St. Paul's Cemetery. Please note all guests will be required to show proof of double vaccination with I.D. Social distancing and the wearing of masks is mandatory.
