On September 12th, 2022 at the age of 33, our brother, son, uncle, best friend and confidant, Matthew James Gorham suddenly passed away. The hole that this has left, the life that will be missed, the laughs that won't be had and the memories that won't be built, hang heavy on all of Matthew's family and friends. Matthew's smile, laughter and comical style would draw anyone in. The talent, love, dedication, drive and compassion he showed in all areas of his life will be extremely missed by all who knew him. Matthew's passion for music was infectious. From the hundreds of songs he composed and performed to the covers he would so begrudgingly play, it brought people together. He carried himself with professionalism and a proud sense of who he was and what he stood for and was never afraid to speak his mind and share it with you.
Matthew was most proud of his family. His Mother (Trina), his Sisters (Vanessa and Genelle), his Brother-in-Law (Kevin and his Mother Jean), Cousin (Andrew), young Nieces and Nephews (Mercedees, Cali, Mariah, MacKinnely, Kaylee,Payton and Bentley) and Step-Father (Colin). These are the loved ones whom he built his life around. A family man through and through, he never missed an important milestone, date or event. You could always count on him to be there and in times of distance, call and make sure you knew he was with you. We would like to express our thanks to Eric (Matthew's business partner), Jeff and especially our Cousin Andrew for all of their help and support during this time, in Mississauga, Ontario. The untimely passing of Matthew has shocked so many of us. He has left us too young, too soon and too quickly.
A celebration of life will be held for Matthew on Saturday, October 1st, 2022 from 12-4pm at the St. James Legion No. 4 located at 1755 Portage Avenue in Winnipeg, Manitoba. A small gathering for family and friends in Ontario will take place on Tuesday, September 20th at 6pm at Canlan Sports located at 1120 Martin Grove Road, in Etobicoke, Ontario.
Anecdotes, memories, stories and donations for the family to assist in the arrangements for Matthew can be sent to memoriammatthewgorham@gmail.com.
