Matthew Anthony Poirier
(August 23, 1966 - March 4, 2019)

Matthew passed away on March 4, 2019 after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer. He joins his predeceased father Gilbert and brother Thomas and leaves behind his pride and joy, son Nick Smiley-Poirier (Emma Aker) and his beloved grandson Gibb. He will be constantly missed by his mother Ann, his brothers David (Linda), James (Peggy) and Joseph and his sister Donna (Rande Perry). His nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Colin), Andrea, Jason, Alex, Isaac, Natasha and Ashley will hear their Uncle Matt whenever a Dylan song plays.
The family will receive friends on March 13, 2019 at 10am St Maurice Church located at 4 Perry St, Nepean, ON K2G 2R6. A funeral mass will take place at 11:30 am, followed by a reception.
