On Sunday November 22, 2020 my dear wife of 20 years, Maureen Alice Watt, passed peacefully after a gallant fight against illness. A big thanks to Dr. Friedrich and nurses of the 4th floor General Medicine Ward at Brampton Civic Hospital for their wonderful care of Maureen during her final days.
Maureen touched the lives of many as a wonderful human being and an inspiring teacher. Maureen will also be remembered for her love of family as a daughter, a big sister, an aunt, a mother, a step-mother, a grandmother and a great-grandmother as well as a loving wife.
Children were drawn to Maureen since she was a young girl organizing neighbourhood Christmas pageants and Summer Talent Shows to baking with her grandchildren and preparing and delivering lessons to her students in Winnipeg, Kasabonika First Nation and Peel District School Board.
She loved to dream of what could be and would work on various projects close to her heart. She was a talented designer, gardener and photographer who adored her dogs. Our current dogs, Waldo and Sophie, miss her a lot. They loved when we all went for a walk.
Donations can be made in her name with CIBC Run For The Cure or the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada. Maureen was predeceased by her beloved parents John and Bernice Pelletier and missed by her sisters Elaine (Tom) of B.C., Patti (John) and Lynn (Peter) and their families, her daughter, Shannon(Dan) and granddaughter, Ava, all of Winnipeg, and her step-children Walter, Diane and Sarah and 9 grandkids and 1 great-grandson of Thunder Bay, her best friend, Marilyn and numerous friends in Winnipeg and her husband, Derek of Brampton. Rest in Peace, Maureen. Je t’aime beaucoup ma chere femme. A bientot!
