LACASSE, Maurice “Moe” Joseph of Marionville, Ontario. With a heavy heart, we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Maurice, with family by his side, at the Winchester Hospital on April 26, 2016, at the age of 29 years (er… 76!). Maurice was born on June 5, 1939 and is pre-deceased by his mother and father, Marie Jeanne and Felix Lacasse, five brothers and five sisters. He leaves behind two sisters, Margaret and Germaine and one brother, Gerard. Moe held a couple of jobs as a young man including Barrett’s Lumber and a long distance truck driver for CN Rail before finally pursuing his dream of opening up his own Gas Station and Service Centre in 1987.
Maurice is survived by his wife of 40 years, Valerie (nee Milner) and his children, Maurice Lacasse JR (Debbie) of Castlegar, BC; Lise Lacasse (Yves) of Masson, QC; Rejean Lacasse of Ottawa, ON; Louise Lacasse of Gatineau, QC; Diana Lacasse Rancourt (Mark) of Ottawa, ON. He was a loving grandfather of 15 and great-grandfather of 17. Maurice also leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and many friends.
A Celebration of Life ceremony is to be held on Sunday, May 29, 2016 from 2-4pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 260 McArthur Avenue in Ottawa, ON. The 2pm service is being officiated by Martin Carnahan with Darian Lacasse actingn as pallbearer. Everyone is welcome.
