Affectionately known as Nana to many, Maxine possessed a love for her grandchildren that knew no bounds. Her heart swelled with joy at the prospect of spending time with them and the entire family at her cherished cottage on Brydon's Bay, Muskoka. Every moment shared with her grandchildren was treasured, and nothing brought her greater joy than seeing her entire family come together, basking in the warmth of love and togetherness.

Maxine's world was one enriched by the written word. A voracious reader, she embarked on countless literary journeys, exploring the depths of imagination and wisdom through the pages of books. Her passion for reading was matched only by her eagerness to share her latest literary discoveries. A legendary matriarch, Maxine had been preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Anthony Baker, who departed from this world in 2010. Her legacy lives on through her devoted children, Chris and his wife Lynne and Kimberley and her husband Paul, who carry the torch of her love and strength.
