Maxine Bate, of Linwood, Ontario, passed away peacefully January 9, 2014 at Freeport Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Beloved mother of Landon, Luke, Mike, Donny and Jordan. Grandmother of Danae. Life partner of Pierre Straeten. Daughter of Maxwell and Rita Jones. Sister of John, Cheryl, Larry and Fred.
Maxine was a Clinical Secretary at Grand River Hospital where she was valued for her hard work, energy and enthusiasm for her work.
Maxine will be remembered and missed for her loving spirit, open heart and sense of humour.
Maxine’s family would like to thank the staff at Freeport and Grand River Hospitals for their care as well as her friends who supported her during her illness.
In accordance with Maxine’s wishes, there will be no funeral. An open house to remember Maxine’s life will be held on Saturday, January 18 from 1 to 4 pm at the home she shared with Pierre at 5087 Ament Line, Linwood, Ontario.
Maxine’s cremated remains will be interred at Williamsburg Cemetery, Kitchener.
