Maxine Anne Esther (nee Anderson) Graham

April 29, 1941 — September 25, 2016

GRAHAM, Maxine Anne Esther (nee: Anderson)
Passed away peacefully at Regina Gardens Long Term Care Facility in Hamilton, Ontario, on Sunday, September 25, 2016 in her 76th year.
Predeceased by husband Donald Taylor Graham in 2003. Beloved mother of Paul (Gabriela) from Savannah, Georgia and Vickie-Lynn (Dan Orasanin) from Ancaster, Ontario. Proud grandmother of Park Reilly (Colleen), Kaitlyn Reilly (Kyle Cleave), David Senos (Tatiana) and Jessican Reid (Brian). Daughter the late Kenneth and Barbara Anderson. Sister of Ken Anderson and the late Terry Anderson.
Maxine was born in Red Hill England on April 29, 1941 and moved to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario as a very young child. In her youth, Maxine was very involved with her church group and her faith was important to her up until her passing. As a teen, Maxine was Miss Sault St. Marie and everyone who knew our mom understood that her beauty was so much more than skin deep. She was simply one of the kindest people to grace our lives. Our mom met our father, Don in the Soo and they moved to different cities with his career. They spent time in Durham, Ontario, and Thunder Bay, Ontario. Upon their retirement, they moved to the Niagara area to be closer to their grandchildren. Maxine adored spending time with Park and Kaitlyn and was a loving influence in their lives. Maxine's love for all of her dogs over the years was well-known. She was a "second mom" to so many of Paul and Vickie-Lynn's friends and always had more than enough dinner to serve anyone who showed up around dinner time. It has been incredibly difficult these past 3 years watching Alzheimer's take over our mom's body and mind, however, no matter how hard the disease pushed, Maxine maintained her sweet and loving disposition. She will incredibly missed by not just her family but by anyone who met her.
As per our mom's request, cremation has taken place. She did not want a funeral but wanted her family present for the internment. Maxine will rest in peace with our father at Victoria Lawn Cemetery in St. Catharines, Ontario.
The family would like to thank the staff of Regina Gardens in Hamilton, Ontario for being so supportive, respectful and loving of our mom while she was there, and for always making sure she was dressed impeccably, pearls and all.
Memorial Donations in Maxine’s name may be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
