May Marie Patchett, (née Welch), at 75 year, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 16, 2019. She was predeceased by her late husband William Thomas Patchett, eldest son William Thomas, and is survived by Eva, Robert, Anne, John, Edward and Adam, along with many grand-children and great- grandchildren that she loved dearly.
She only recently reconnected with one of her long lost sisters, Shirley, thanks to DNA testing. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends sharing memories and fond moments.
May was a cancer survivor for over half of her life. Her indomitable spirit, and generosity kept the family together in difficult times with support from so many. She paid it forward by helping those in need whenever she could no matter how little she had to share.
May cherished her weekly chats with her grand-children, and always appreciated the surprise visits. She shared her wisdom, provided moral support and advice, when needed, even if not asked for. May loved to play bingo, and enjoyed even more, the slots. She always played within her means, yet always seamed to come out ahead.
A special thanks to her entire Health Care Team that provided comfort and support to May, from the personal support workers, to the nurses, and doctors and everyone involved at the Kingston General Hospital.
A celebration of life will be held at Legion 631 Bath Road in Kingston Ontario, Saturday 27 July 2019, 1- 5 pm. In lieu of flowers a donation to a Cancer charity of choice, is preferred.
