MICHAEL VAN BENTHEM JUTTING passed away peacefully with family at his side on March 10, 2021 at the Ottawa Hospital General Campus after numerous complications with Lymphoma.
Mike was loved and will be dearly missed and always remembered by his life partner Susan Denholm, his daughter Megan (Jeff) and Megan's mom, Pam Patterson. Mike was also survived and loved by his adopted families, the Bradleys in Canada (especially his brother-in-law Patrick Irwin), the Denholms in England, his late brother’s (Steven) family the van Benthem Juttings in Southern Ontario as well as all his long time friends in Canada and his new friends in Florida.
Mike enriched his life playing one of his many guitars and participating in numerous sports especially ice hockey and golf. He also loved tinkering in his well stocked and fully operational basement, all of which will all be donated to Carleton University from whence he retired in 2003. Because Mike spent most of his last 3+ months in various areas of the General we would like to thank everyone who came in contact with him for all their wonderful work, their kindness, and their compassion in keeping his spirits up since we were not able to visit, and video-chatting is just not the same.
For those who wish, donations in Mike’s name can be made to the Lymphoma Society of Canada (see link below)
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date when larger gatherings are permitted.
