Michael passed away peacefully on September 29, 2020 at the age of 72 - his big generous heart just quit. Michael was much loved by his many friends and will be especially missed and lovingly remembered by Sheena,
his ex-wife and best friend of 50 years.
Michael was an electron microscopist and medical and scientific photographer in his youth, and also photographed people, places and events prolifically. He devoted many of his later years to the care of his mother Ilse, and his father Hans until they both passed. He played goalie for pick-up hockey from childhood till his many hockey injuries sidelined him in his late 40's. He was a passionate, enthusiastic spectator of sportscar racing. He had a special fondness for the dogs with whom he shared guardianship with Sheena. He had a great sense of humour, even during the last few years when his complex health problems sometimes overwhelmed him. He was the best of best friends. He will be greatly missed.
