LAMBRINOS, Mike (Μιχάλη)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mike Lambrinos at 89 years of age.  Mike passed away peacefully on March 3, 2024 in Toronto. He will be joining his beloved wife Maria (Vergados) who passed away in 2016. He will also be joining his siblings Nicholaos, Ilias, Anna, Panagiota and Tasia.
He will be greatly missed by his brothers Harry and Jimmy, and his sister Eleni. As well as his many nephews and niece, along with their respective families.
Mike was born on December 14, 1934 in Vlahohori, a small village high in the mountains of Mystra, Laconia, Greece.  Mike was one of nine children born to Fotios and Katerina.  They lived through hardships of war and poverty, and like so many of his generation immigrated to Canada for a better life.
Before coming to Canada in 1959, he served in the Greek Army.  He loved to tell stories of his time in the Army, and would often recite poems.
In 1960 he met and married his late wife, Maria. He gained employment at various restaurants as a counter cook for many years, and then as a Lead Hand for Commodore Computers until retirement.
During his retirement, he looked forward to and enjoyed his daily gathering with fellow Greeks at Tim Horton’s.  He could always be found walking along the Danforth, having a smoke, running errands and grocery shopping.  Most of all he enjoyed spending summers in Greece at the summer home in Magoula, Sparti.
Mike was a kind hearted and generous soul who made donations to restore and renovate the Church, Agios Nikolaos, in his village of Vlahohori. He continued his generosity and desire to be part of his local church in Toronto, by donating to the St. Irene’s building fund.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. May his memory be eternal and may he forever be in our hearts.
