Always Loving, Always Loved
Michele (Shelly) Buehler left us peacefully on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the age of 62 years after a long and valiant battle with cancer. Born in Calgary, Alberta, Shelly moved with her family back and forth across Canada. She chose to relocate to Toronto in 1987, which then became her permanent home.
Shelly’s kindness, sense of humour, and optimism will be missed greatly by all who had the privilege to know her. The memory of Shelly’s unshakable courage, enduring strength and sheer determination is something we will carry with us forever.
Shelly worked and excelled as a Management Consultant. She developed solutions for large accounts regarding software services. She was always humble, never liking to talk about her successes. However, when coaxed, you could feel her pride. During the challenges of her illness, Shelly continued working which only exemplified her dedication to her career.
Shelly will be lovingly remembered and missed by her daughter (and soul mate) Haley McLachlan and Haley’s partner Parker Griffin, and her brother Greg (Kate). Shelly was predeceased by her mother, LaRee Bryan, and her father, Ralph Buehler. Shelly also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and cousins.
A heartfelt thank you to Reta Walton for her kindness, devotion, and special friendship.
Our family is deeply grateful to the team at Mount Sinai for the dedication and care throughout Shelly’s numerous treatments. Our family is also very appreciative of the compassion demonstrated by the wonderful staff at Kensington Hospice. Shelly was loved and cared for by them during her last several weeks.
A private family service will take place in the near future. Letters of condolence, or any memories that you have, may be shared here. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes can be made to The Sinai Health Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
