Mieczyslaw (Matt) Eugene Duszka

It is with great sadness to announce that on July 6, 2022 we had to say goodbye to Matt Duszka of Caledon, Ontario at the age of 94.

Matt was a very hard-working, impressive man who was born in Poland and immigrated to Canada in 1946. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Hania, and generous father to Susan, Ted (predeceased) and Robert. Matt was the only one of six family members to survive Siberia where his family was sent during the war. He lied  about his age to enlist in the Polish army. After the war Matt immigrated to Canada and went to work in Saskatchewan, providing labour to farms. Later, he made his way to Ontario to first work in mines and eventually welding and pipefitting, completing his work career as the owner of Nelson Welding Ltd. After retiring Matt delighted in spending copious time outdoors maintaining and enjoying his property and nature. His passions included golfing, hunting, fishing and spending time with friends and loved ones. He had great joy for music and dancing. He was loved and cherished by many and will be dearly missed.
