Myrna Elizabeth Baker

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Myrna Baker (née Smith) at her home in Thornton, Ontario, at the age of 72. Myrna was the beloved wife of Ken Baker, a devoted mother to Kevin (Sue), and a cherished grandmother to Ashley (Erik) and Shaylinne, and great-grandsons, Slater and Barrett. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter Kelly (2006).

Myrna shared a special companionship with her loyal dog, Benji, who brought her comfort and joy. She will be deeply missed by her sister Mary Elliott (Bob, deceased), her nieces Karen Mitchell (Kyle) and sons Nash and Navy, and Cherrie Racine (Kris) and daughters Myah and Marley. She is predeceased by her parents, Harry and Ruby Smith (Mooney).

Myrna’s life was a testament to resilience and joy. Despite facing numerous hardships and health challenges, she never complained and was always smiling. Thursdays were especially meaningful to her, as she spent afternoons playing cards with dear friends at Ivy Hall.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Lynn Price for her unwavering friendship and assistance with transportation and other tasks in recent years. Deep gratitude also goes to Charlene Vanderpost for her dedication and care over the past 12 years. Special thanks to the relatives and friends who supported Myrna throughout her journey.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 25, 2025, at Ivy Hall, located at 5085 20th Sideroad, Ivy, Ontario, L0L 2N0, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Diabetes Canada or the Ivy Orange Hall in Myrna's memory.

Myrna will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and unwavering love for her family and friends. May she rest in peace.
