Nancy Leach

Nancy Patricia Leach (nee. Koch), in her 70th year, passed peacefully at Hospice Simcoe surrounded by her family's love on November 19th, 2024 after her fierce decade long battle with cancer. 

The world became brighter when Nancy was born on Wednesday, September 21, 1955 to Irene and Claus Koch in Winchester, Ontario. She is loved by her siblings Sonja (Uwe) and Peter (Sheri) and families.

In 1973, Nancy met her life partner Edward Charles Leach through their shared interest in football. Ed and Nancy created their family and had three beautiful children, Kyle George, Troy Edward, and Gina Elly.

In 1999, Nancy opened Emma King Elementary, in Barrie Ontario, as the head secretary and experienced her job of a lifetime. She cared for the students and families of Emma King and has a lasting legacy even after her retirement in 2018.

After her retirement, Nancy enjoyed traveling with Ed and spending copious amounts of time with her family and six wonderful grandchildren. Kyle and Bianca (Mancini), Matteo, Sophia; Troy and Lori (Pipe), Lachlan, Easton; Gina and Tyler (Leyzer), Theo, and Josephine.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice Simcoe for the phenomenal care that was given to Nancy. We would also like to thank the incredible healthcare teams that helped Nancy experience and enjoy the last decade of her life, while she was fighting cancer.
