DECENA, Natividad (Naty)
17January1938 -05April2020
It is with profound sadness that the children of Natividad C. Decena announces her passing on Sunday, April 5, 2020 at the age of 82 years. Natividad will be forever remembered by her children Daisy (Rey) , Elena (Rolan) , Daniel (Hatsue) and Genaro(Mika). Natividad is survived by her only sister Paulina Espino and was predeceased by her only brother Catalino Decena Sr. Her five grandchildren, Michael (Amy), Justin, O.J., Joanna and Rochelle will always cherish their Nanay who spoiled them to no end. Nanay Naty embraced every moment with the grandkids by enjoying taking selfies with them or posing for silly photos. Naty’s nieces and nephews in the Philippines are very fond of her and are all on ‘high-alert’ when she comes home every year on Holy Week for her “Pabasa”. To those who know her well, she is skilled at adding curse words to her sentences. Naty is also an excellent cook in her younger years and she ran her own small business in the Philippines. She came to Canada in 1994 and became a full-time caregiver to her grandchildren. She is also an avid bingo player and have made many friends while playing Bingo.
Naty lived a full life as beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She will be dearly missed and will forever remain in our hearts. A Funeral Service in memory of Natividad will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at 1:00 p.m., at St. John Dixie Cemetery and Crematorium, 737 Dundas Street E., Mississauga, ON L4Y 2B5. A Celebration of Life mass will be scheduled in September 2020 followed by the interment of her cremated remains.
