Neville Vincent

July 7, 1949 — April 11, 2017

Vincent, Neville George
Passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the age of 67. Neville was the son of the late Arleigh Vincent of New Brunswick and his war bride, Daisy Matthews of Ealing, England. He is survived by his brother Richard and sister Mary. He will be greatly missed by his son Ian (Tanya), daughter Joanna, grand daughter Jessica (Vince), great grand children Renee and Alison, his New Brunswick Aunt Marion and Cousins Dawn, Patsy, Cindy, Teena, David and their families.
Neville was born in Fredericton, but his father's career in forestry took the family to various posts around Ontario, lastly in Ottawa where Neville finished school. He embarked on a 35 year career primarily as a Case Manager for the Public Service Alliance of Canada, a job well suited to his empathy, fairness and assertiveness.
Early in his career, he met and married Barbara Beck and the young family settled in South Mountain. Neville continued to work with PSAC in Ottawa while they undertook the challenge of starting a goat farm. Goats and kids meant busy days for Ian and Joanna growing up on the farm.
Eventually, Neville returned to Ottawa alone. There he met Patricia MacKenzie who became his second wife and they started a new life in Winchester. An avid golfer, he joined Cedar Glen GC and got Pat interested in the game. Winter trips to Florida and Myrtle Beach became a fixture on their calendar. At the first opportunity, Neville retired to golfing, refereeing hockey, day trading and home improvement.
After Patricia's passing in 2013, Neville found happiness again with Elizabeth Simzer whom he had met 42 years earlier. Together they enjoyed friends, family, travel and many happy times.
Neville never met a family that he didn't like. His Vincent family in New Brunswick remained the base, but along the way he added the Becks, the MacKenzies and the Simzers. He embraced family with the same enthusiasm that he embraced his many friendships, both old and new. Life will not be the same, especially for Elizabeth, Mike and Louise, Erin, Bruce, Ron, Donna, Gord, Hugh and felines Spike and Abby.
Just the way he would have wanted it, an informal celebration of Neville's life will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Cedar Glen Golf Club between 4 and 8pm. Friends may wish to make donations to Big Sky Ranch animal sanctuary where Neville volunteered.
