Charles Norman Jones, died early Sunday morning at St. Joseph Hospital, Hamilton, at the age of 82. Passing peacefully in the embrace of the love of his life, his wife Ellen Jones.
Born in Chiswick, London England prior to the start of the Second World War, he move to Canada as a young man in 1955. He initially found work as a draftsman and tool designer. He met and married Margarita Carcamo in 1959 with whom he had two children, Magdalena and Nelson. Though they divorced in 1966, they remained close as both friends and parents.
Charles left the tool shop and trade for the opportunity to teach at Seneca College. After what for most would be considered a successful and promising career in education, he decided to return to school himself to pursue a lifelong ambition. In 1975 he was accepted into Osgoode Hall, earning his law degree at the age of 47.
He met Ellen Williams in 1984, and their relationship culminated in marriage some 18 years later. The couple moved to Hamilton soon after the wedding. Charles and Ellen spent many Christmas’ and vacations with his daughter’s family in Alberta, enjoying being a grand father to Bianca and Tyler. His loving wife and the joy he experienced with his extended family, helped make his senior years his happiest.
