“In everything, give thanks!”
Ogechukwu “Oge” Eze (30) passed away peacefully on September 13th, 2023, at the Civic hospital with her loving mum by her side. She left us all too soon, leaving behind a void that can never be filled.
Oge was born on February 28, 1993 to Caroline Eze and Cletus Eze in Warri, Nigeria. She brought endless joy and love into our lives from the very beginning.
She was a sweet, loving, funny, supportive, protective, caring daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who touched the hearts of everyone she met. Her infectious laughter, warm smile, and unwavering kindness will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Oge completed her bachelor’s degree at the Madonna University in Nigeria, a significant milestone that laid the foundation for her future endeavours. Eager to expand her expertise, she embarked on a journey to Algonquin College in Ottawa, ON where she specialized in Brand Management and Human Resources Management. Her passion for people management shone through as she pursued a career in Human Resources, a field where she not only became a skilled HR Coordinator but also evolved into an accomplished HR Generalist.
Oge's enthusiasm for life was apparent to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her insatiable curiosity and eagerness to explore new horizons were remarkable traits that defined her. She approached each day with a spirit of adventure and a commitment to making the most of every moment.
Oge found joy in life's simplest pleasures. She dedicated her time to her faith and nurtured a profound and enriching relationship with God. She cherished quiet evenings spent with friends and took solace in her love for movies, which never failed to bring a smile to her face. She was a dreamer with a strong desire to see the world, a dream that, tragically, was cut short by the cruel hands of fate. But thanks be to God, who always causes us to triumph in Christ and reveals the fragrance of his knowledge through us in every place – 2 Corinthians 2:14 ESV
Perhaps one of Oge's most remarkable qualities was her ability to find happiness in the everyday. Her positivity and pleasant personality were infectious, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. Oh, and how she had an incredible knack for setting aside her own worries just to bring joy to those around her, serving as a compassionate and attentive listener when you needed to share your own concerns or seek advice, always leaving you feeling uplifted and comforted.
She is survived by her loving family: Caroline Eze, Cletus Eze, Gift Nwakaego Eze. Her memory will forever live on in their hearts.
A memorial service to celebrate Oge’s life will be held on October 2nd, 2023, at Hope Cemetery, 4660 Bank St, Gloucester, ON K1T 3W7 at 11 a.m. Friends and family are invited to join in commemorating her remarkable journey.
In celebrating Oge's life, we remember a Jesus girl, a woman of great ambition, a dedicated HR professional, and a dreamer who found happiness in life's simplest treasures. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Oge brought light and love to all she encountered. She will be remembered not for the tears we shed at her loss but for the countless smiles and cherished memories she gifted to us during her time with us.
Please leave your condolences and share your cherished memories of Oge below.
