Pathiyamveetil (Ram) Ramanathan

Ram passed away at his home in Ottawa on October 6, 2022. He is survived by his wife Edith, daughter Diane(Tim), granddaughters Soraya and Anika. Numerous relatives both in India and Canada also survive. Predeceased by his son Alex in 2017.

Before immigrating to Canada Ram worked 2 years in Germany, where he formed lasting bonds. A connection he kept to the end. Ram worked at Confederation College for 30 years until his retirement in 1998. Travelling was his great passion, and he visited many countries both before and after retirement.

In 2007 Ram and Edith moved to Ottawa to be near Diane and her family. His greatest joy in later years was watching his granddaughters grow up. Saturday night sleepovers at Mormor and Opa's were standard.

Cremation has taken place, and in accordance with Ram's wishes there will be no funeral. If friends desire, a donation to the Ram Ramanathan Aviation Award at Confederation College or the Ottawa Food Bank would be greatly appreciated.
