Patricia (Pat) Ann Bridge (nee Laws)

5 May 1947 – 14 April 2022

It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Patricia Ann Bridge at her home in Oshawa on 14 April 2022 after a courageous four year battle with leukemia. Patricia was in her 75th year and is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Dave. She was a devoted mother to Jodi Bridge and Lori (Grant) Burke who will all profoundly miss her. She loved her grandchildren, Ryan and Lily, dearly. She is pre-deceased by her cherished brother, Reginald Laws and will be remembered lovingly by her sister-in-law Audrey and her niece Georgina and nephew Kevin. Her brother-in-law, Tom (Carole Pergunas) Bridge and his children Michael, Tegan and Gillian also remember her fondly.

In her earlier years, Pat worked as a Nursing Assistant in Peel Region and then later as an Education Assistant for the Durham Board of Education. Helping children with special needs was a lifelong passion for her. In her retirement, Pat enjoyed the giggles of her grandchildren, shopping ‘till she dropped and traveling and meeting new friends with Dave in historical WWII locations.

As per Pat’s wishes, cremation and private interment have already taken place at Thornton Cemetery in Oshawa.

Heartfelt thanks go to the doctors and nurses at the Durham Regional Cancer Centre for their treatment, compassion and genuine care for Pat. Disa Clifford and Sarah Hadfield at VON Durham Hospice Services are also thanked for their empathetic support of Pat’s family.
