Patricia Little

It is with very heavy hearts that the family of Patricia (Pat) Louise Little, mourn her passing on June 14, 2022, at the age of 71, with her family by her side, after a long battle with leukemia.

Pat is predeceased by her parents James and Betty Jeffery.  She is survived by her husband Hugh Little, her children Sara (Scott) Thornton and John (Andrea Knapp) Little.  She will be dearly missed by her three grandchildren or as she liked to call them “her babies”, Bradley, Liam and Cooper Thornton. She will also be missed by her siblings the late Robert “Bob” Jeffery, Ronald (the late Janet) Jeffery, Susan (the late Geoff) Clark, Jane (John) Ahern, Jim (Rose Marie Reid) Jeffery, John Jeffery, Mary (Dave) Innes, Paul Jeffery and her many nieces and nephews.

Pat took great pride and joy with her work with the Royal Bank of Canada.  After she retired, she spent most of her days with her grandchildren.  She loved spending time in the kitchen baking for her family and friends.  For decades we have all enjoyed her baked goods, especially her personalized cakes.  From wedding cakes, christening cakes, to character cakes her trade mark name of Little-Pat-a-Cakes was known to all.  No family celebration was complete without a minimum of at least two of Pat’s cakes.

She was a long-time member of the United Church of Canada, where she enjoyed singing soprano in the church choir, taught Sunday school and was a member of the UCW (United Church Women).  She did everything from bake sales to picnics to potlucks and charitable events.  Pat was well known for her generosity and knew no bounds.  She would go above and beyond for anyone in need or if they just needed to feel special.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Queensway Carleton Hospital ICU for the care and respect they provided to her and her family as she slipped away from us.  Pat’s family appreciated all of you so much.

There will be a Celebration of Life on July 16th at 1PM to 4PM (rain date the 17th).  It will be held at her daughter’s home at 38 Julian Street, Carleton Place, ON, K7C 3Z2.
