Son of Ellen (nee Ezekiel) and Edward Duggan, Pat was born on Bell Island, Newfoundland. The eldest of seven children, he was predeceased by Shirley and Edward, and survived by Helen, Jerry, Tom & Kevin.
Patrick leaves behind his wife of 25 years, Jeannette (nee Roy), four children; Ann, Laura (Laura), Sean (Monique), Jennifer, and granddaughter, Brynn. He will also be missed by his stepchildren; Jamie Charlebois, Joelle Baldry (Derrick), and Al Charlebois, as well as seven more grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He accomplished many things in his life, including being awarded a full scholarship for engineering at Memorial University, making him the first person in his family to attend post-secondary education. He became an electrical engineer and worked in St.Johns, Montreal, Kitchener, and Ottawa. Notably, he was involved in the invention of the barcode and the development of the home inspection industry.
Patrick passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in Ottawa. The funeral has already been held.
