HALFORD, Paul Stephen
1955 – 2022
Sadly, the family announces the passing of Paul on September 29th 2022 peacefully with this family by his side. Paul leaves behind his loving wife Karen, Daughter Heather, Son Stephen, Brother Ron (Sue) in B.C., Twin Sister Sue (Ian) in U.K. and Sister Val (Jon) in U.K. He is also survived by 5 beautiful grandchildren Dylan, Caylie, Callum, Julia and Lucia.
Paul was an exemplary employee at the Queensway Division of the TTC for 29 years. He would often ride his bike to work, even during the winter month’s. He never missed or took a single sick day.
Paul was always an incredible gardener and kept an exquisite yard full of beautiful flowers and plants. He also looked after a few of our neighbours’ gardens close to our home. When he wasn’t working or walking, he loved sitting under our gazebo in the backyard watching all the wildlife, especially the birds as they bathed in the bird bath.
We used to call him the Animal Whisperer. He loved all animals, dogs, cats and birds. They were somehow all drawn to him. He even called a wild bird to his hand in our garden that sat on his shoulder. He is especially missed by his Boxer Dog Elsa and Olaf the Boston Terrier for their peaceful walks in Cawthra Woods Estate. His special little girl was also our black cat named Faith, Stormy, Sky and Sugar.
The kids would all bring theirs and their friend’s bikes for Pa to fix as he was incredibly handy and could fix anything to do with bikes or anything else that needed to be fixed. If it was broken, they would all say “Pa can fix it”.
He had a year long battle with Metastatic Prostate Cancer which he succumbed to in the end.
As per his wishes a private service has been held.
In lieu of flowers donations to a charity of your choice in Paul’s name for Clarkson Sports & Physiotherapy, Autism Canada or The Mississauga North Baseball Association, Tigers High Performance Program (Dylan Donovan)
