Paul “Old School” Nielsen

May 26th, 1960 – June 24th, 2022 (Age 62)

62 years old at the time of his passing, Paul grew up in Toronto, Ontario, and was currently living in Mississauga, Ontario. Paul tragically passed away on June 24th, 2022, just after 10:00 pm in Rexdale, Ontario. Paul is survived by his beloved daughters Britney (Ricky) and Nicole (James), grandson Lincoln, siblings Jens, Thomas (Arlene), Ann-Marie (Brendan), and his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased were his father Paul Sr., mother Annelise, brother-in-law Brian, and sister-in-law Heather.

Paul was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, in his spare time he loved to ride his Harley Davidson with his motorcycle club and chosen family Bad Habits RC. Paul attended Port Dover this year on May 13th and said it was the most amazing experience in his life, every time he spoke about it, his face would light up. Paul was very proud to be a grandfather and was looking forward to sharing his interest in motorcycles with his grandson Lincoln. Although he did not get to take Lincoln for a ride, Lincoln shows a great interest in motorcycles at only 4 years old and says “Grandpa Paul was cool”.

Paul had a great interest in Danish culture as he and his siblings were second-generation Canadians, their parents immigrated from Denmark to Canada. Paul was very proud to be Danish, Paul and Thomas worked for their dad Paul Sr. at Danish Family Bakery in Etobicoke, ON. Later, Paul and Thomas opened their own bakery Little Denmark Bakery & Cafe in Mississauga, ON.

Paul enjoyed spending time in the sun and water, golfing, and spending time with friends, and his family. Paul was one of a kind! He was a hard worker, he was passionate, driven, and caring. He had a sense of humor like no other, his smile and laugh were contagious. He wanted everyone to be included and didn’t care if he fit in, because he would rather stand out! He lived modestly and enjoyed the simple things life had to offer, he would always tell everyone to “Keep it simple” and even had it tattooed on his back.

All are welcome to come out and celebrate the life of Paul “Old School” Nielsen. A visitation and funeral will be held at St. Johns Dixie Cemetery & Crematorium on July 8th, 2022.
