Peter Ernest Brunet

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Peter Brunet following a short but tough battle with liver cancer. Peter leaves behind his two daughters Chelsea (Justin) and Natasha (Mathew), his common law wife, Kerri-Lynn and two bonus children, Tayler (Martin) and Jack (Chiara). Also survived by his four brothers; Dave (Louise), Brian (Donna), John (Heather), Robert (Annette) and many beloved members of the Hayes family. Predeceased by his parents Vincent and Ethel Brunet and his loving spouse Donna Hayes-Brunet. 

Peter loved nothing better than lying on the beach of at some Caribbean destination soaking up the sun. He was a diligent and hard worker in construction and the trades, he particularly enjoyed his work over the last few years with Centura Tile who were amazingly generous and flexible as Peter struggled with his health. Peter’s smile couldn’t have been any bigger as he found out he was to be a grandfather of a baby boy this coming fall, what an amazing grandpa he would have been.

There will be a funeral mass at St. Maurice Church,  4 Perry Street on Wednesday, July 24th at 11:00 am followed by a private interment at Notre-Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Ottawa Food Bank in Peter’s honour would be greatly appreciated.
