Peter Cogan

June 17, 1942 – April 17, 2023 (age 80)

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Cogan (June 17, 1942 – April 17, 2023). Peter was born in Ulič Krivé, Slovakia. Throughout his life he took on many professions, including saving the lives of miners, he was the leader of the rescue team. He later emigrated to Canada and started his own construction company and built homes for many families. He volunteered and led cultural organizations promoting world travel for Canadian youth, which made many children’s dreams come true. Peter was fortunate to travel to many places and had a passion for languages and cultural studies. He worked enthusiastically his whole life, always uplifting others. He leaves behind his son Peter Alexander and daughter-in-law Alicia, sister Maria, and brother Jozef. Peter will be remembered as positive and inspirational. He was a dear and reliable friend to many. May he rest in peace and forever stay in our hearts.

Service will be held Saturday, April 22nd at 10 AM – 11 AM in Etobicoke in the chapel at Riverside Cemetery,  located at 1567 Royal York Rd, Etobicoke, ON M9P 3C4 (East side on Royal York Rd). There is parking available in the lot adjacent to the Cemetery office which is a short walk from the chapel.
