Peter Spring, 1931-2013
Born in Vancouver, champion skier, President Vancouver High School Ski Section, member Vancouver Ski Club, founding member Vancouver Press Club, and Vancouver Mountain Emergency Squad. He was a Ski Editor, Vancouver Province and Vancouver Sun, plus Pacific Northwest Magazines and producer Vancouver Ski Show on radio.
Ski racer at Banff, Mount Tremblant, Lake Tahoe, Mount Hood, Mt. Rainier and Mt. Baker, and skied in major Canadian locations. He was a Master Mason raised at Zion Lodge 77 in Vancouver.
He was a Passenger Agent and Technical Assistant with Air Canada in Vancouver and Montreal. An Advertising and Public Relations Manager with McCulloch Chain Saws & Marine Products. Assistant Manager with Outboard Marine in Peterborough, Sales Executive at Creative Workshop (Walt Disney Canada), and Gorrie Advertising. Manager Group Inclusive Tours at P. Lawson Travel and Sales Host at Horseshoe Valley Ski Resort/Carriage Hills.
Established Peter Spring & Associates, PR & Advertising agency in Toronto which represented American Motors/Jeep, Scotiabank, Toronto International Boat Show, Toronto International Auto Show, Allied Boating Association of Canada, RV Dealers Association, Ontario Snowmobile Manufacturers, Junior League of Toronto Designers Showcase, and others for over 20 years. He created and produced the annual Toronto International Auto Show television program and was ski information reporter for CHFI-FM radio.
He purchased a former CPR railway station in Shelburne Ont, north of Toronto and moved it to 10 acres of land where he and his family turned it into a home and resided for 10 years.
In retirement he and his wife Judith moved to Oshawa and established a company involved with a new government financing source based on the Ultimate Economic and Social Plan (U.E.S.P.) through their company, Ultimate International.
He is survived by his wife Judith and five children: Bradley in Coquitlam BC, Paul in Fort McMurray Alb, Janette in Brampton, Nicholas in Hamilton, and Heidi in Milton, Ontario as well as 2 step children Elizabeth and Karen and 13 grandchildren.
