Peter Wade

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Peter Wade.

Peter passed away peacefully at Hôpital Montfort in Ottawa on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at the age of 74. He was the son of Don and Ada Wade. Peter was predeceased by his first wife, Shirley Wade (nee Mathews), his second wife, Frieda Gunther and his most recent loving partner, Cathy Johnson. He was father to Janis Ong (Mahvin) and loving step-father to the late Bruce Hill, John Hill (Rhonda), Sandra Georgiou, Glenda Hill (Jeff Butler) and the late Les Hill (Alison)

He was the proud grandfather of nine grandchildren:  Torin, Jonathan and Jessica Ong; Margaret Georgiou (Jeff Herweyer) and John David Ibbitson (Nick); Lester Hill (Rhonda Buckingham), AJ Sargent (Kyra Wagner) and Kayla Sargent (Mike Lauren); and Michelle Hill. Peter was also a proud and loving great-grandfather of 11.  He will be deeply missed by his cousins, including Grace Lanken, and was recently predeceased by his other loving cousin Elizabeth Wade.

A gathering to celebrate Peter’s life will be held on Monday, July 18, 2022 from 3-5 PM at Hope Reception Centre/Chapel, 4660 Bank St (There is public transportation (bus stop) outside the main gates, the Reception Centre is the second building in the cemetery on the right, and parking is available).

Flowers can be sent directly to Hope Reception Centre/Chapel.

The family would like to thank the staff on the 7th floor of the Garry J. Armstrong Nursing Home for their care for Peter throughout the last two years.
