Philippe Joseph Benoit Loranger
March 21 1934-July 19 2024
Born in Welland, and passing at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington. He will be missed by his children Irene (Otto), Colette, Frank (Melissa), Joseph (Teresa), Marc and son-in-law Glenn. Jackie, his loving wife (May 09, 2024), butch (1993) and Catherine (2003) are waiting for him with open arms.
Pepere will be missed by 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents Arthur Loranger and Anna Beaulieu, 2 brothers and 6 sisters.
Philippe was raised in Welland and then married Mom in Vermont on October 8th, 1955. They returned to Welland to start their family where they raised their 7 children in the Niagara Region.
In 1979 they moved to Florida until 2015, where they relocated in the Halton region to be near their children.
Philippe worked for over 50 years at different companies as a Structural Steel Draftsman in Ontario and in Florida. He was also involved with the Boy Scout Organization in Welland.
In his spare time Philippe enjoyed cooking, baking, painting, and volunteering his time to worthwhile causes.
The family would like to thank Tamara and the PSW’s at Wellington Terrace for the care they provided to Dad for six years before moving to Alexander Place. A heartfelt thanks to the staff at Alexander Place for their care and compassion during her stay over the past year. We would also like to thank the staff on the North 5th floor at Joseph Brant Burlington Hospital for the excellent care they gave Dad during the week he was in the hospital.
The internment for both Mom and Dad will take place at 11:00am on September 14th, 2024, at Holy Cross Cemetery, 50 Woodlawn Road, Welland Ontario. The service will be officiated by Pere Guy Bertin from Eglise Sacre-Coeur, Welland, Ontario. A luncheon will take place after the internment at Fonthill Legion Hall, 141 Hwy 20 E, Fonthill, Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations to be made to: Alexander Place Long Term Care, Resident’s Council. Please make cheques out to Alexander Place Resident Council Fund. Alexander Place, 329 Parkside Drive, Waterdown Ontario L0R 2H0. Or, a donation to the Willow Foundation, which supports Wellington Terrace or a charity that is dear to your heart.
