It is with the deepest sorrow and unbearable sadness that we wish to inform you of the passing away of Philippe Ouellet, son, brother, partner, father, friend. He collapsed suddenly of heart failure on Wednesday June 15, in the evening and suffered irreversible brain damage as the result of prolonged cardiac arrest. With faint hope of survival, he was aggressively treated at UHN ICU for 48 hrs. He was pronounced dead on Friday June 17 at 2:53 pm.
Philippe Ouellet was born on March 8, 1983 at St- Michael's hospital in Toronto, at 10:45 AM. He was christened at Holy Rosary Church in June 1983 and later attended Holy Rosary School where he graduated from grade 8. He was proud of the fact that his daughter, Claire, who now attends Holy Rosary herself, could see him in his graduating class picture in the first floor hallway of the school.
After finishing high school in 2001, Philippe embarked on a number of technologically-oriented ventures, first forming a media production company with an interest in applied social media, followed by a VOIP calling card venture as well as developing encryption systems for phones and other digital devices and platforms.
On July 8, 2011, Philippe and Anna became the happy parents of a beautiful baby girl whom they named Claire.
Throughout all of this, Philippe continued to exhibit a voracious appetite for all things technological as he went on to become an elite self-taught computer programmer. He was adept in most programming languages and operating systems and his vast understanding of networks, and inscription was sustained by a daily search for the latest developments in the field.
His latest projects, which he never completed, were in the areas of crypto-currency and privacy dealing again with encryption and the instability of public network, and the internet in particular.
When asked, however about his greatest life accomplishment, he would point to his daughter Claire as his inspiration and guiding light. He loved Anna deeply and was a devoted family man. His death is a tragedy, in the most profound meaning of the term.
Philippe was the light of our life and his generosity of spirit touched many people. The hole in our heart is an inconsolable void in our world. We miss him more than words can say. For those who knew Philippe, please have a kind thought for him.
