He seized the day
He held the world in his hands
He dug in deep and gave it all ……
He sought, and gave, and prodded and pushed…..
He loved and lived and dragged us along …….
An untamed beacon! An intrepid soul!
A lover of life!
“Come on!!” his habitual cry.
The family of Prior Noel Bonas announces his untimely passing after a brief illness. (June 4th, 2020)
Prior will be lovingly remembered by his wife Sandra and his children Mario, Matthew and Tyrone, daughters-in-law; Andrea and Dilmini and his three grandchildren, Tarik, Sierra and Ruby.
He also leaves behind his brother Garth Bonas and sister-in-law Joy, sister Agatha Simon and brother-in-law Errol, as well as sister-in-law Theresa Blackman. Prior was predeceased by his eldest brother Knolly Blackman.
Trinidad born, he attended St. Benedict’s College in San-Fernando and migrated to Canada in 1972. Relentlessly he climbed from the Toronto police force, to Provincial Prosecutor, to Justice of the Peace in 2001 and he dutifully served in this capacity until 2014.
The Bonas, Belgrove and Simon families are grateful to all the very supportive friends who have assisted Prior along his fruitful journey. He was admired and respected by his friends and colleagues in the legal and enforcement fraternity. We would be remiss to not mention the sentimental outpouring of sympathy, gratitude, well-wishes and heartfelt appreciation we received from so many in his final days.
Prior’s remains will be laid to rest at Brampton Memorial Gardens. A private service will be held.
Additionally a private memorial service will be conducted at Belgrove's Funeral Chapel in SanFernando, Trinidad on June 10th 2020 at 11am.
