Rachael Balangue Pengson

Rachael “Cherrie” Pengson passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 23, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 68.

Born in Manila, Philippines on October 20, 1955, Rachael was a graduate of Fine Arts at University of Santo Tomas. She worked as an interior designer and a liaison officer. She enjoys cooking and baking, always eager to try out new recipes or perfect her favorite ones. Gardening too, is a hobby she loves, finding peace and satisfaction in nurturing plants and watching them thrive. Besides her hands-on activities, she's drawn to the world of films and art, appreciating the creativity and stories they offer. Whether it's getting lost in a movie or admiring artwork, she values the escape and insight these experiences provide.

Rachael was a beacon of love and strength to all who knew her. Her kindness, generosity, grace, and unwavering optimism touched the lives of countless individuals.

Throughout her life, Rachael exemplified resilience in the face of adversity. Despite the challenges posed by her illness, she remained steadfast in her positivity, inspiring those around her with her indomitable spirit.

A devout Roman Catholic, Rachael's faith was a cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through life's trials and triumphs. Her spirituality was not only a source of personal comfort but also a beacon of hope for those around her. Rachael lived her faith through acts of kindness, embodying the principles of love and service. Her devotion was evident in her commitment to prayer, and her unwavering belief in the power of God's love. Rachael's faith enriched her life, provided strength in her final days, and inspired all who were blessed to know her.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend, Rachael cherished her family above all else. She found immense joy in spending time with loved ones, creating cherished memories that will be treasured for generations to come.

Rachael's compassion extended beyond her family, as she was actively involved in her community, always lending a helping hand to those in need. Her selflessness and generosity made a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.

Though she may no longer be with us in person, Rachael's legacy of love and resilience will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her warmth and kindness.

Rachael’s spirit of love and resilience is carried forward by her cherished husband Victorino, their loving children Pauline, Kathleen, Daryl, and Charmaine, her adored grandson Terence, her son-in-law Earl, and her older sister Carolynn. This tight-knit circle of family members reflects Rachael's enduring warmth and kindness in their daily lives. Victorino remains a pillar of the love they shared, while their children, alongside Earl and Terence, embody her legacy of compassion and strength. Together, they face a world without Rachael's physical presence, united by the deep love and lasting memories she's imparted. Rachael’s essence, a guiding force of love and perseverance, continues to inspire her family, encouraging them to embrace life with the grace and courage she demonstrated every day.

May her soul find eternal rest, wrapped in the comfort of knowing she was cherished beyond words. Her absence leaves a void that echoes with the depth of our love and the memories we hold dear. She was a beacon of light in the lives of those who knew her, and her departure casts a shadow that will be felt profoundly.
